The debate over Valid HTML and CSS affecting your Google Rank has gone on forever, even though google state More Content, Less Code = More Relevant!

So I took the liberty of contacting Google, Their reply was:

“Hello Adam,
Thank you for your email. I understand that you want to know whether valid HTML and CSS help in better organic search and AdWords ad rankings.
Please note that clean HTML codes and CSS help improve rankings because they make it easier for our crawlers to find information. Sites’ positions in our search results are determined based on a number of factors designed to provide end-users with helpful, accurate search results. These factors are explained in more detail at http://www.google.com/technology/index.html.

There we go :) I would say Clean doesn’t mean Valid, but if its Valid, it’s clean right?

New MinuteDesigns’s Logo

Posted 9 months, 1 week ago at 10:25 am. 0 comments

So, we’re planning on entirely recoding the “dull” looking MinuteDesigns website. We need to add all the services we do anyway, such as Hosting, Domains, SEO, Design, Print and everything else extra.

This will include the CubeCart / eCommerce solutions, as we did purchase www.cubecartdesigns.com with the plan on selling Templates, Mods and Special Offer Hosting, but we haven’t had the time to do anything with it!

Anyway here is the new logo:

Might spend some more time on the “reflection” as it was quick, and same with the glass effect.  If we TM the logo it will be completely plain :)

Google Adsense, Google Adwords

Posted 9 months, 1 week ago at 9:10 am. 0 comments

You may, or may not have noticed Google Adwords advertisements on this blog, this is because I have been “trialling” adsense.

So far, I’m impressed - to an extent.

They seem so very anal in everything that is to do with your account, and for some keywords the payment is laughable, on a “Dieting” website with adsense all over it, its been averaging 5p per click, which is a waste of time in my opinion.

On the flip-side of that, we’ve started various “SEO” orientated sites, one is a Blog with advice and a the ability to write a post, which can rank VERY highly in google! The other is a Directory, which is located on the same domain as the blog!

Anyway, the “SEO” area’s seem to be by far the most PROFITABLE, HIGHEST CPC (Cost per click) I know of, some giving me over $2 per click (that’s more than £1 per click). My thoughts came to, if we could archive just 100 of those clicks per day, for 365 days per week then that would make a total of £36,500 per year!

No wonder “some” people can quit their jobs and leave an adsense site chain running!
